By some freak of scheduling, I had the Eta Sigma Phi Latin translation contest and the assessment test for graduating seniors today. Now my brain hurts. See—this is why I try and avoid thinking at all possible costs.
On the upside, we’ve had a break in the weather. It was in the upper 40’s F (8 Cish) today and looks like the temperature will hold the rest of the week. Just when I was about to give up all hope and work on my Tauntaun-riding skills.
I also can’t decide whether to continue the H/W fanfic mania that has consumed me for the last six months or whether to focus on my original writing. It’s a debate that’s always on the back of my mind.
Fanfiction is nice on account of the built-in audience and enthusiastic fanbase. Plus, fanfic invariably gets more feedback. Which is possibly the shallowest reason to write it, but I've never tried to deny my shallowness.
But it’s been awhile since I’ve written original fiction and I could probably stand to work on it. Not to mention that I have notes for at least six stories floating around, three stories that I really should finish, and one completed work that really needs some revision.
Grr, wish I was better at juggling more than one story at a time. I don't know how you do it,

Date: 2007-02-21 05:21 am (UTC)See, there's the other thing--I'd feel bad spamming people who friended me because of my Housefic with my crappy original writing, so I'm not even sure I'd post it here.
Although, I must say that participating in such a high-quality fandom has done a lot for my development as a (hobby) writer.
Word. Writing in this fandom is just a challenging as writing original fiction, and in someways it's a lot more difficult--I've pushed myself harder here more than I ever did with original stuffs.
